The Community & Economic Development Department strives to improve the lives of residents, visitors and tourists through economic development, business retention and redevelopment activities, affordable housing, rent control, art in public places and support to community based organizations through the federal Community Development Block Grant program.

The Department provides services to businesses, developers, community organizations and individuals in a variety of ways, from funding to workforce development to the collection of data and other useful information.
