Camp Palm Springs

Camp Palm Springs

Camp Palm Springs is an organized recreation program supervised by trained individuals who were selected based on their experience and ability to work with youth (grades 1-5) in recreational and educational settings. It offers a non-competitive yet challenging environment where youth can learn new recreational skills, leisure attitudes and an appreciation of nature necessary for the creative use of leisure. The program consists of singing, games, drama, crafts, dance, special events, movies, swimming, environmental studies and many other activities during the morning sessions, and swimming, movies and special activities during the afternoon session; several participation options are available.

 What Do Kids Bring?

Campers must wear their Camp T-shirts and tennis shoes and bring a bathing suit, towel, sunscreen and hat every day. We recommend you clearly mark all items with your child’s name. A sturdy bag or knapsack will keep items together. Full day and afternoon campers should bring a sack lunch and drink.

All patrons will pay an annual User Fee for participation in recreation programs and activities:

Youth (ages 4 - 12) $19/year
Adult $35/year
Family $52/year

Additional Program Information:

Registration will be taken Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Leisure Center, 401 S. Pavilion Way. No 24-hour or mail-in registration will be accepted. Registration will not be accepted after 10:00 a.m. on Monday for the week. All unregistered campers will be sent to the Leisure Center office to wait to be picked up by a notified guardian.

* Campers must have completed Kindergarten on or before the first day of camp. Proof of grade may be required.

Early Bird Registration Deadline

Thursday by 6:00 p.m. for the following week ($25 off ½-day and full-day camps)

Friday by 6:00 p.m. for the following week ($15 off ½ day and full-day camps)

Visitors

Only registered campers may participate in camp activities. If you will have visiting children this summer, plan ahead and register early! To avoid disruption of camp programs and to ensure the safety of the campers, we do not allow visitors on site during camp hours unless prearranged with the Camp Director.

Arrivals and Departures

Campers may arrive no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of the morning programs. A parent or other pre-designated adult must deliver and pick up all campers at the door. The campers must be signed in and out daily by a parent or guardian!  Photo ID may be required for pick up. If you arrive late or need to pick your camper up early, stop by the office and pick up an early release or late-comer form to be given to your child’s leader.

Summer Camping Means Responsibility

We believe that campers should have fun, but also expect them to behave responsibly, i.e., be kind to others, share and keep their environment clean. Campers who find this responsibility too heavy to bear may be asked to play elsewhere.
